Mission Statement:
The The West Volusia MOAA Chapter (formerly The Military Officers Club of Volusia County) was established in March 1975 to inculcate and stimulate love of country and flag; to defend the honor, integrity and supremacy of our national government and the Constitution of the United States; to advocate military forces adequate to the defense of our country; to foster fraternal relations between all branches of the various services; to aid active and retired personnel, their dependents and survivors in every proper and legitimate manner; and to present their rights and interests when Service matters are under consideration.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(19), non-partisan, Veterans’ organization. Our members reside in western Volusia County, Florida. The West Volusia MOAA Chapter is affiliated with the national Military Officers Association Of America, and the Florida Council Of Chapters, East Central Area. We are Chapter FL30.
Membership is open to all active, retired and former commissioned or warrant officers. Officers of the Reserve components and National Guard are also eligible for membership. The surviving spouse of any deceased officer, who would, if living, be eligible for membership, is eligible for Auxiliary membership.
Our members are actively involved in our local community. We present awards to the outstanding Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) student at local area high schools, and we award a college scholarship to a deserving JROTC student to help defray some of their college expenses. We seek to meet the needs of our local veterans as we are able. We also support the local Salvation Army as well as the Humane Society.
