We have heard the rave reviews for our chapter newsletter as
well as our chapter website. Recently,
MOAA National announced their selections for the Colonel Marvin J. Harris
Communications awards in both the newsletter and website categories. Our chapter was recognized with the 4-star
award in both. This is a first for the
chapter and we can be proud. Less than
20% of chapters and state councils nationwide qualify for this award. MOAA renamed the award in 2011 after Colonel
Marvin J. Harris, USAF (Ret), who served with loyalty and dedication as MOAA's
Director of Public Relations from 1996 until 2011, delivering effective
communications to both military and civilian audiences. Each year, national
MOAA holds a communications award contest to identify those councils and
chapters that do an outstanding job communicating with their members. We are
pleased to be one of those chapters so designated.
