Bio for Will Miller, Commander, US Navy Retired: Will is a former Naval Officer, decorated Vietnam combat veteran, educator, advisor, futurist, and community leader.
He is the grandson of Elton W. Miller, former Director of Aeronautics for NACA, predecessor of NASA, and grew up in Hampton, Virginia in the early days of the NASA space program. Will is a graduate of Virginia Tech, holds a Master of Education degree from the College of William & Mary, and a Certificate in National Security Management from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF).
His disaster-related experience includes: Damage Control Officer USS Leary (DD-879), US Atlantic Command, American Red Cross, Rotary International, and Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus counties, and international disasters.
He has worked with numerous Flag Officers, senior White House staff, and US Astronauts, including Apollo-14 Astronaut Ed Mitchell, on disaster and technology projects. He is a Past District-Governor for Rotary International, supporting 47 Rotary Clubs from upper Citrus County to south St. Petersburg.
Will lives in Belleair Bluffs, Florida with his wonderful wife, Alicia.
