CAPT Tim Holme, USN (Ret), will present “Get Ready For Primary and General Election Season- Know Your Candidates”. CAPT Holme is a former 10 year volunteer, current member and ambassador for Vote Smart, a non-profit, non-partisan research organization providing the public with information on presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, state, county and city candidates. Vote Smart also researches ballot measures, voter registration and classroom curriculums. Vote Smart has been recognized as a credible media source providing the public with factual research.

CPT Tim Holme, USN (Ret)

Bio for CPT Tim Holme, USN (Ret):

CAPT Tim Holme, USN (Ret), received a BA in Political Science at Yale University in June 1963. He was commissioned through the Navy ROTC program at the same time. He received a MA in government and Politics from the University of Maryland in 1971. CAPT Holme retired from active duty in 1991 after a distinguished Navy career to include being a submariner; subspecialist in Intelligence and Political Military Strategic Planning; foreign language graduate in Greek and Russian from U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Institute; Asst Chief of Staff for Intelligence of Special Operations and Special Security at Commander Submarine Force Atlantic; Naval Attaché’ (to include Air) at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, USSR; Assistant National Intelligence Officer for General Purpose Forces of the U.S. National Intelligence Council and the Commanding Officer Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Florida. Upon retirement in 1991, he joined the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). CAPT Holme became the Senior Naval Science Instructor at Crystal River High School from November 1991 through January 2005. He then taught American Government January 2005 through January 2007. CAPT Holme is the founder of both the Crystal River High School and Sun Coast Swim Team programs. He became a Volunteer at Project Vote Smart, servingannually for 10 Years beginning in September 2007. CAPT Holme is a current member of Vote Smart and classified as a Program Ambassador.
